Is Today a Beach Day - Picture

I was chatting with a friend in Atlanta.  Apparently they have gone full into Summer.   While it has been dry and warm here, it's nothing like it is up there.

Yesterday it hit 95 in Atlanta, it only hit 86 here.

We're in a dry spell, a week of dry sunny weather in the high 80s is predicted.   They're in a heat wave.

People wondered why I would go to Florida in the summer.   It is weather quirks like that.  We are going into the hurricane season, and being here for five years I have lost touch with what it's like out in the real world.  On the other hand, it's going to look like this for the next few days.  Summer in Philly would readily go over 100 but not here.  Sure it can be 95 in late September, and we're dodging storms, but when you live here you readily forget that it gets hotter the further North you get.

With luck the hurricanes will miss everyone and all we'll get are a few tropical storms.   The grass could use it and Lake O is low.  There is a heck of a breeze blowing in off the ocean and down the street in the "right direction" so if you're on the beach now, I bet you're getting sandblasted.

Then again if you're on the beach now, close the laptop and enjoy the sun.  The internet will be here when you get back.
